Giselle Hernandez

Giselle Hernandez: Originally from Mexico City, she came to the United States in search of a better life. Professionally, she dedicates her career helping thousands of people to become better health through exercise and nutrition. Currently, through radio and television programming, Giselle has empowered thousands of men and women to live a better life. Giselle Hernandez is a worldwide health counselor and she received a Doctorate from Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York. She received a Bachelors Degree in Theology and a Masters Degree in Ministry from the Latin University of Theology in Inglewood, CA. She is certified beautician in both the United States and in Mexico. Giselle is a Chaplain and Volunteer in different hospitals and schools throughout LA County. Additionally, she is speaks at different seminars as well as writes several articles related to health and beauty in magazine publications in the area. In 2005, she was named international model during Fashion Week in Miami.  In her role as Social Communicator, she also hosted the National TV Program “Giselle” in the Almavisión channel. Also, she frequently appears as a guest in the program "Lánzate” and “A Primera Hora" at Univision. Giselle appears frequently giving health and beauty advice in the radio program "Beauty and Health with Humberto Luna", in the first from Las Vegas, Nevada. Finally, Giselle founded Belleza Giselle, a company that sells health and beauty products.

Leo Muciño

Leo Muciño: Originally from Mexico City, Mr. Muciño has worked for more than 20 years in the Telecommunications Industry, which includes radio, television, print media and social networks. He receieved a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from UCLA. As a journalist, Muciño covered community issues that affected the Latino community. Additionally, Mr. Muciño has developed national radio and television projects. Previously, Leo Muciño had his Pulso Deportivo Plus program at 1020 AM in which his platform not only included sports but also discussed issues affecting the Hispanic community. Specifically, Leo created a platform to develop new talent in entertainment, journalism, public relations industry. Muciño is a radio show host and his area of expertise is predominantly about human development regarding temporal and spiritual issues. Since his departure from 1020 AM station, Mr. Muciño hosts his own Internet radio program entitled Jugando Despiero de Conexión Espiritual; this program highlights issues of human development in the earthly and spiritual realm. This program also includes different professional speakers such as Maru Rojas, Doris Posada, El Yonny, and Psychologist Daniel Vázquez Montaño which is broadcast daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. by Facebook Live and by internet radio.

Azucena Gomez

Azucena  Gomez-Victoria: Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Azucena Gómez immigrated with her family to the United States in 1988 to persue higher education. A graduate in Journalism studies Her first works were in Oxnard, in programs directed to the community and the youth. She soon made her way to the big leagues, working for Univisión and Telemundo in Los Angeles, with Telemundo 52 for over 20 years, where she also collaborated with KNBC. Presenter, reporter, producer, and with a great passion for live news, research and even sports, Azucena covered the 2008 Olympic Games in China, natural disasters, border/immigration issues, and presidential elections and political debates. A recipient of two EMMY awards, as well as several Golden Mic awards and nominations, Azucena spends much of her time giving talks in schools and community organizations to motivate future leaders. Her other great passion is in financial education, to which she currently dedicates all her knowledge and skills. After obtaining a license in this field, Azucena aims to combat the great "misinformation" rampant in Latino communities in areas such as credit, savings and spending. Azucena affirms that "It was not easy to arrive in this country and settle down; now we must ensure for tomorrow. "

Dr. Judith Topete

Dra. Judith Topete: Originaria de la ciudad de Guadalajara, Jalisco, sus padres la inculcaron el ejercicio y la vida sana desde la pequeña edad y se interesó por los buenos alimentos y el ejercicio, lo que ayudaría a convertirse en una nutrióloga. Realizó sus estudios en la Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara y luego en Bauman University en California especializando en Nutrición. En el año 2000, ella inició su primer trabajo en el Hospital General, donde formó parte del Departamento de Nutrición. En esa capacidad, trabajó en consulta externa, orientación alimentaria a pacientes dados de alta; así como la realización de un programa de control de peso y orientación nutricional para el personal del hospital con resultados positivos.  Desde el año 2005, la Dra.Topete inició su propia consultorio de control de peso. Desde el año 2014, la Dra. Topete ha impartido conferencias en el centro de convenciones de Los Ángeles en eventos tal como “The Food Fair” y la “Feria de los Moles”. Además, la Dra. Topete ha colaborado con escritores, conferencistas y nutricionistas famosos como Carlos Cuauhtémoc Sánchez, Adriana Macías y Nick Vujicic en el centro de convenciones de Los Ángeles y de Long Beach.  La Dra. Topeteescribe en una revista "La Prensa de los Ángeles" ofreciendo consejos y desarrollo de temas de Nutrición. Además, ella ha desarrollado un programa de Nutrición para los distritos Escolares de Lynwood y Downey dónde da conferencias a padres e hijos sobre los buenos hábitos alimenticios. Finalmente, tiene un programa de Radio en la 1020AM, Lunes, Miércoles y Viernes Cirugía al Corazón a las 9:00 am dónde se puede escuchar temas de nutrición, autismo, y temas de interés para la comunidad Latina.

Dr. Ana Nogales

Ana Nogales, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, founder of Nogales Psychological Counseling, Inc., and Casa de la Familia, which she established in the year 1996 for victims of trauma. She oversees a clinical staff of about thirty bicultural-bilingual mental health professionals and an outreach program for domestic violence and sexual assault delivering services in Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Dr. Nogales is President of the Association for Latino Mental Health Awareness (ALMHA) in Los Angeles & Orange County, which is a community coalition of mental health providers, including hospitals, clinics, private and non-profit organizations.  She is on the Board of Directors of Las Comadres para las Americas, an international Latina women’s networking organization.  Featured regularly in the media, she has hosted her daily talk shows "Aqui Entre Nos" (Just Between Us) which aired mornings at 8:30 am on La Voz, with the highest ratings of the station, and on Channel 22 KWHY Los Angeles. Dr. Nogales also wrote a weekly column for La Opinion (Los Angeles) for seventeen years and continues to write for mainstream periodicals and blogs, including for Psychology Today.  Dr. Nogales' professional career is anchored by her commitment to combat violence, especially violence against women and children. She uses many avenues of communication including the media and is an award-winning author, playwright, and songwriter.  She has been a featured speaker at numerous workshops, and conferences throughout the U.S.  and is a speaker/consultant for several universities throughout the United States, such as Northwestern University, USC, University of Albuquerque, Shirley Fearon Training Institute, Omega Institute, UCI, Vanguard University, and other universities. 

Marta Sámano

President/Founder ALLA

Marta Sámano: Marta Sámano received Bachelors Degree in Sociology, Public Policy and graduated with Honors University of California Santa Cruz, and at the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM). Marta Sámano is the founder and current president of the Academy of Latino Leaders in Action (ALLA), a non-profit organization.  Additionally, she has worked and consulted in several local political campaigns. In 2016, Sámano was a city council candidate in the city of La Puente, California and later ran candidate for the San Gabriel Valley Water Board where she received more than 14,000 votes, taking second place. Sámano was elected to the first meeting of the International Consultative Committee of the Mexican Institute of Foreign Affairs (IME) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before her tenure at ALLA, she was Director of Development for MALDEF and the Mexican-American Legal & Education Defense Fund. This program was one of three national programs recognized by President Bill Clinton and the US Department of Education. Marta Sámano appears regularly on Telemundo, Univisión, as well as bilingual local media. Marta Sámano was the first Latina, Political and Education Director of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU), the United Farm Workers of America (UFW), and Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union AFL-CIO. She has served on numerous boards and committees, such as the National Hispanic Media Coalition of the California League of Conservation Voters and the US Department of Education. Sámano has advised different organizations including the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Mexican Civic Clubs, Associations and federations in the both the United States and Mexico.
