Founder/Director
Leading the Latino Community in LA County for over 30 years, Marta Sámano is the founder and current president of the Academy of Latino Leaders in Action (ALLA) and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience developing leaders whether through the Mexican-American Legal Defense & Education Fund (MALDEF) or through running for public office, or by organizing workers such as the United Farm Workers of America or serving on the board of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Ruben Hoyos
Coordinator/Organizer
Ruben joined Academy of Latino Leaders in Action with the vision and drive to organize and mobilize the Latino Community. Ruben received his Masters Degree in Urban Planning from New York University. Planning for the Latino Community is very important and crucial. In addition, Ruben worked in several political campaigns most recently in the presidential election for the Florida Democratic Party as a Field Organizer. His interests include reading, developing websites, and spending time with family.
